Major in Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behavior. By studying the science of behavior and mental processes that determine behavior, you’ll learn how to apply the accumulated knowledge of psychology to solve practical problems in clinical and counseling environments.

The program for majors is multifaceted, designed for those who wish to study psychology as part of a liberal education, studies who plan to use their training providing psychological services and in related vocations, becoming professionals in governmental organizations, business and industry, as well as those who are preparing for graduate work in psychology.

Admission to the major

A student may be admitted to the Psychology major after completion of 30 credits, PSYCH 311 with a C- or better, and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. Read Psychology course descriptions on the WSU Catalog.
